Lincoln Middle School students chosen for honor groups

The SCSBOA (Southern California Schools Band & Orchestra Association) held auditions earlier this month for membership in one of the SCSBOA Middle School Honor Groups. Hundreds of students from across the southern California area audition for placement in one of these outstanding ensembles. Students are chosen through a rigorous and thorough live audition process. This year, five students from Lincoln were chosen to participate in one of these honor groups. They are:

Juliet Pooler, violin – 8th grade

Cy Gilman, cello – 8th grade

Adam Katz, bass clarinet – 8th grade

Joe Wickline, trumpet – 7th grade

Melinda Zhu, flute – 7th grade

Additionally, Matteo Lauto, cello – 8th grade was selected as an alternate member for the orchestra if needed.

These students will be attending weekend rehearsals in February, culminating in a concert performance on Sunday, February 16th at John F. Kennedy High School Performing Arts Center in La Palma.

Please congratulate these students for their acceptance into these prestigious instrumental honor groups as well as all LMS students who auditioned for their hard work, courage and dedication!
