Edison Language Academy is one of eleven public elementary schools serving the children of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.
Edison Language Academy is Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s Dual Immersion Elementary School. In the 2011-2012 school year, Edison celebrated its Silver Anniversary as a dual immersion school, where all our students learn to understand, speak, read and write in both English and Spanish. Edison is also the first step in the SMMUSD Language Academy, which continues at John Adams Middle School and Santa Monica High School – giving their graduates the opportunity to continue to develop their language skills from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
While they teach in two languages, they follow the same state curriculum frameworks and grade level content standards as all public elementary schools in California.

With contributions through our Education Foundation from parents, teachers, staff, PTAs, businesses and community, SMMUSD will provide Edison with these Vision for Student Success programs and resources in the 2014-15 school year.
